What’s Up! My name is Christopher Whalen and I am from Long Island, NY. I come from a large family of 7 with 4 older sisters and 2 great parents. Most of my extended family, including my first and second cousins, also live locally to me which was a blessing growing up. Growing up on the south shore of Long Island, the beach has always been a huge part of my life and who I am as a person. Outside of work, I love to go to the beach simply to visit or to surf. I have been in the water since I was very young and grew up as a competitive swimmer for most of my life, including at the University of Scranton where I got my bachelor's degree. Having been a swimmer and avid beachgoer, working as a pool and ocean lifeguard was a job that I did from high school until I matriculated into medical school. I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities I have had in my life, and all the opportunities to come.
