Kirsten Madea, DO
Dr. Kirsten Madea, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM). She educates medical students on community health pediatrics and osteopathic manual medicine, conducts lectures, facilitates lab sessions, and advises on medical student matches.
Previously, Dr. Madea served as Chief Medical Officer at Johnson Health Center in Lynchburg, Virginia, managing a multi-specialty network of clinics and providing care in rural Virginia to over 30,000 patients. Her leadership included developing clinical guidelines and restructuring care teams.
Dr. Madea earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Pediatric residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She studied Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in residency. She also furthered her leadership skills through Harvard's Career Advancement Leadership Skills for Women in Healthcare program.
An active volunteer and member of professional organizations, Dr. Madea has participated in medical mission trips and is involved with the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Osteopathic Association and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Her interests include integrative medicine, adoption medicine, nonoperative orthopedics, hiking, and music. Dr. Madeaís dedication to education, patient care, and community service underscores her commitment to individualized care and improving healthcare.
